Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization
COVID-19 is thought to spread mainly through close contact from person-to-person. In addition to close contact with infected people and contaminated surfaces, spread of COVID-19 may also occur via airborne particles in indoor environments, in some circumstances beyond the 6-foot range encouraged by some social distancing recommendations.
There are straightforward steps that can be taken to reduce the potential for airborne transmission of COVID-19. The layout and design of a building, as well as occupancy and type of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, the installation of Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization (NPBI®) technology can all impact potential airborne spread of the virus.
NPBI® technology cleans the air by introducing ions into the space via the airflow in your ventilation system. This technology delivers indoor air that’s free of ozone and other harmful byproducts. NPBI improves the air by reducing airborne particulates, odors and pathogens, as well as save up to 30% on energy consumption and lower your carbon footprint.
CCG has installed Global Plasma Solutions (GPS) NPBI’s products in our employees’ homes, our building and customer sites. GPS’ patented needlepoint bipolar ionization technology safely creates and releases ions into the airstream using your existing HVAC system as the delivery method. When these ions disperse throughout a space, they seek out and form bonds with particles in the air through a process called agglomeration. This creates a snowball effect in which particles begin to cluster together. The larger a cluster of particles becomes, the easier it is for your system to safely filter it out of the air. This process is proven by independent laboratory testing to be both safe and effective.
