Barberton City Schools Contracts with CCG
Posted on 5/3/2010
(Barberton, Ohio) May 2010 - Barberton City Schools recently contracted with CCG Automation, Inc. (CCG) to upgrade the existing building automation system in the ten year old high school and to install new building automation system in the new middle school. CCG will be replacing the existing controls with Automated Logic's WebCTRL building automation system to help decrease energy consumption and improve comfort. CCG will also install Automated Logic's WebCTRL in the new middle school.
Barberton City Schools and CCG will work together to qualify the high school and middle school for ENERGY STAR Certification through the EPA's ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. For many facilities, they can rate their energy performance on a scale of 1 to 100 relative to similar buildings nationwide. A rating of 50 indicates that the building, from an energy consumption standpoint, performs better than 50% of all similar buildings nationwide, while a rating of 75 indicates that the building performs better than 75% of all similar buildings nationwide. A building must be above a 75 to qualify.
CCG Automation, Inc, located in Richfield, Ohio is a building automation company that focuses in the K-12, healthcare, and higher education markets. Our ultimate goal is to provide solutions that focus on conserving energy and lowering utility cost while ensuring comfortable, quality indoor environments for building occupants. CCG is an authorized Automated Logic dealer.
ENERGY STAR was introduced by EPA in 1992 as a voluntary, market-based partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency. Today, the ENERGY STAR label can be found on more than 60 different kinds of products as well as new homes and buildings. Products that have earned the ENERGY STAR designation prevent greenhouse gas emissions by meeting strict energy-efficiency specifications set by the government. In 2009 alone, Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, prevented 45 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions - equivalent to the annual emissions from 30 million vehicles, and saved nearly $17 billion on their utility bills.
