CCG Offices - Earned ENERGY STAR Award for the Second Consecutive Year
Posted on 8/3/2009
(Richfield, Ohio) August 2009 - CCG Offices in Richfield, Ohio has earned the distinction of becoming an ENERGY STAR labeled building from the Environmental Protection Agency for the second consecutive year. CCG is one of only 51 office buildings in Ohio to achieve this award and only 19 have earned the honor for more than one year.
CCG's business is focused on helping others become more energy efficient while maintaining a comfortable environment to work in. "There is no better way to show customers how strongly we believe in what we are doing, than continuing to practice energy conservation measures in our own office thus earning this prestigious distinction for the second year," said Brian Wagner, president of CCG. "CCG's facility is not a large building but we are demonstrating to others that even small-scale businesses can reduce energy consumption, helping to keep our community a little greener."
Commercial buildings that have earned the ENERGY STAR Award use nearly 40 percent less energy than average buildings and emit 35 percent less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, offering a significantly smaller carbon footprint. Buildings excel due to good energy management practices such as routine energy efficiency benchmarking.
ENERGY STAR was introduced by the EPA in 1992 as a voluntary, market-based partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency. To qualify for the ENERGY STAR, a building must score in the top 25 percent based on EPA's National Energy Performance Rating System. Only 7,736 buildings nationwide have become ENERGY STAR labeled, and just 3,077 of these are office buildings. Other buildings include supermarkets, schools, hotels, banks, hospitals, courthouses, warehouses, dormitories and big-box retail buildings.
