Hudson High School Receives Perfect Score from EPAPosted on 4/26/2012 Ohio High School Receives Rating of 100 on EPA’s Portfolio Manager Once again, Hudson City School District has proven that its focus on energy conservation is truly a commitment to doing what is right for its students, the community and the environment. Hudson High School recently achieved an EPA rating of 100, the top score a building can receive from the EPA’s Portfolio Manager, a software tool used by thousands of building managers nationwide. The software uses a 1–100 scale to indicate how a building is performing — a rating of 50 indicates average energy performance, while a rating of 75 or better indicates top performance. As Chuck Schilling, Hudson’s Maintenance & Grounds Supervisor, stated, “A rating of 100 is outstanding and is something my staff and I have been dedicated to reaching since we began tracking our buildings in Portfolio Manager. We were excited when all six of our school buildings received the Energy Star label in 2011 but the 100 rating for our High School means our efforts are really paying off. In these tough economic times it is encouraging to see our energy costs decreasing to free up those dollars for educational purposes.” Hudson City Schools, in partnership with CCG, has been using Portfolio Manager since 2004 to track the energy performance of the educational facilities throughout the district.
