Strasburg-Franklin Local Schools Contracts with CCG AutomationPosted on 11/10/2016 Richfield, OH: Strasburg-Franklin Local Schools recently completed an energy project with CCG Automation that addressed comfort issues and high energy and operational costs in their nine-year-old K-12 building. The project included a replacement of the building automation system and numerous mechanical design/installation issues. The project was completed on August 5, 2016 and based on the utility bills through August 25, 2016 the district is already seeing tremendous savings through the construction period. The latest 12 months of utility bills show a 34% reduction in total utility consumption – or approximately $81,000. Additionally, CCG was able to apply for and receive a rebate offered by AEP that has provided an additional $22,720 back to the district. ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager is the EPA’s online tool for measuring and tracking energy and water use. The buildings get rated on a scale of 1-100, with 100 being the best. If the building gets a rating of 75 or higher it can apply to be Energy Star Certified. The Energy Star score compares a property’s energy performance to similar properties nationwide. Strasburg-Franklin K-12 School is on its way to be Energy Star certified – to date it has progressed from a rating of 8 to a 45. In addition to the energy and operational savings, the building is much more comfortable. Temperature and Humidity are more consistent throughout the building.
